The Q9m Is Dead, Long Live The Omnia!
My Motorola Q9m died on March 28 -- it wouldn't even power up connected to the AC. Needing a new phone, and wanting to stick with Windows Mobile (surprise!), I headed over to my Verizon store. I'd previously checked out the Samsung Omnia, and thought it looked cool, but it didn't have a hardware keyboard. I was also interested in the Samsung Saga, a QWERTYbar phone (like the Q9m) running Windows Mobile Professional and having a SIM slot (so it was a true world phone).
Unfortunately, the store didn't have the Saga in stock, but they were selling the Omnia for half off. That meant that, after my discount and a rebate, I could get the Omnia for almost nothing (I did have to pay sales tax), so guess what my new phone is? (Hint, it's in the picture.)
